The charming seaside resort of Exmouth is widely regarded as the oldest seaside resort in Devon. Today it has a diverse appeal for all ages thanks to its spectacular setting, clean golden sand sheltered by the contrasting red cliffs, colourful and well-kept gardens, bustling harbourside and two-mile long promenade.

Our centrally located hotel offers spectacular views across the bay and is an ideal base to explore this picturesque region as we visit Sidmouth, Buckfast Abbey, Bicton Park Gardens, cruise the River Exe, join the South Devon Railway and enjoy a nostalgic tram ride.

Morning collection from home for a relaxed journey to Exmouh stopping en route for refreshments,arriving in time to settle in before dinner.

Mon:

Our excursion today takes us to the elegant and charming Sidmouth. With its long flat promenade overlooked by Regency buildings, along with colourful floral delights, Sidmouth is an attractive and unspoilt resort. This afternoon we include a visit to Bicton Park Botanical Gardens, featuring classical Italian gardens and a beautiful 19th century Palm House.

Tue:

Today begins with an enjoyable cruise on the River Exe. During this 6-mile tour we discover the history, beauty and wildlife of the River. On return to Exmouth we join the coach and travel to Buckfast Abbey,a haven of peace, where we have time to purchase lunch and a look around the gardens and the shop. From here we make the short journey to Buckfastleigh where we join the South Devon Railway along the beautiful Dart Valley on a return trip to Totnes.

Wed:

We head along the coast this morning to the small resort of Seaton, at the mouth of the river Axe, where we join the unique narrow-gauge tramway for an included return journey through the glorious Axe Valley to Colyton. The trams are unique and are all miniature versions of designs once seen in our towns and cities. We have time to visit the Tramstop Café and souvenir shop as well as Seaton before we make our way back to the hotel.

Thu:

We bid farewell to our hosts after breakfast and commence our homeward journey back to Cambridgeshire by early evening,where our door-to-door service will take you home.

Manor Hotel, Exmouth

Located on the Exmouth’s historic Regency Beacon, this grade II listed building and 2-star hotel is just 300 yards from the seafront overlooking Manor Gardens with easy access to the town centre. The hotel offers traditional values of hospitality and service. No two bedrooms are the same at the Manor Hotel, but all feature en suite facilities, TV and tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel features a lounge bar and a restaurant. The hotel has a lift, but some steps to negotiate.
