Easter Week in Eastbourne

Easter Week in Eastbourne

Join us this Easter at one of Britain’s most popular resorts, Eastbourne. Sheltered by Beachy Head and the rolling hills of the South Downs, it is known as ‘the sun trap of the South’.

The elegant seafront invites you to take a leisurely stroll past the magnificent Carpet Gardens and listen to the band in the bandstand. We stay at the traditional and imposing 3-star Lansdown Hotel, a family-run hotel situated on the seafront overlooking the Wish Tower and Western Lawns offering guests splendid sea views. Our holiday includes a visit to Brighton and to Batemans, Rudyard Kipling's family home.

This tour includes our popular door-to-door collection service.

Day 1:

Morning collection from home to join the coach for Eastbourne, arriving at our hotel mid-afternoon.

Day 2:

Day at leisure in Eastbourne.

Day 3:

An excursion into the Cuckmere Valley to visit the pretty downland village of Alfriston, with its many half-timbered buildings, before continuing along the Sussex Coast to the Regency resort of Brighton. Brighton is renowned for its quirky shops, cosmopolitan outlook and contemporary architecture along with its more traditional Regency buildings. Don’t miss the Royal Pavilion, home of King George IV, and probably the most exotic, extravagant Royal Palace in Europe (entrance not included). Stroll along the Victorian pier and the beachfront, where stylish bars and cafés spill out on to the curved paving, with giant sculptures, buskers and artist studios.

Day 4:

After breakfast we travel inland to Sheffield Park Garden, a magnificent landscaped garden. Set in 120 acres, the Grade I listed garden was laid out in the 18th century by Capability Brown, with four large lakes reflecting the exquisite planting of trees and shrubs. We also include a ride on the Bluebell Railway a heritage line running between Sheffield Park and Kingscote and enjoy a delightful Cream Tea as we steam along the beautiful countryside.

Day 5:

We depart Eastbourne after breakfast and commence our homeward journey. We pause for lunch in Windsor before returning to
Cambridgeshire and our door-to-door service home.
