Portsmouth’s Historic Dockyard is our destination today. See Henry VIII's one true love, The Mary Rose, as you've never seen her before.Be wowed by the stunning panoramic views of the ship from all nine galleries and discover thousands of artefacts recovered from the seabed. Explore our historic ships, including Lord Nelson's flagship HMS Victory, HMS Warrior 1860 - the world's first iron-hulled armoured warship - and HMS M.33, the only surviving ship from the First World War’s Gallipoli Campaign and much more. We include a ‘Six Attractions’ ticket which gives entrance to all of the attractions (except the Royal Navy Submarine Museum, Royal Marines Museum and Explosions Museum) enabling you to explore at your own pace.

Sun:

We depart our hotel after a sumptuous full English buffet breakfast and make the short journey to New Alresford where we board the morning Mid-Hants Railway for a 20 mile return journey to Alton. Fondly known as the Watercress Line from days gone by when the railway was used to transport locally grown watercress to markets in London, today it features 4 stations, a museum, cafes and shops. On our return, we have time to obtain lunch before an included visit to Jane Austin’s House in nearby Chawton. Jane Austen spent the last eight years of her life in this unpretentious cottage in Hampshire from 1809 until 1817. It was in this house that Jane’s genius flourished and where she was free to write. Jane revised the three manuscripts she had written previously, but which had remained unpublished, wrote three more novels and started one more, which was destined to remain unfinished before illness overtook her. Later we continue our journey home to Cambridgeshire, where our door-to-door service will take you home.
