This delightful tour visits Blenheim Palace, Britain’s greatest palace, Batsford Arboretum and Sudeley Castle Gardens as well as enjoying a Cream Tea at our luxurious 4-star hotel.

Thu:

Morning collection from home to join our coach for the drive westwards. We pause over the lunchtime period at Oxford, ‘The City of Dreaming Spires’ famous the world over for its university and home to royalty and scholars.We continue to our hotel by late afternoon
with a welcoming cup of tea/coffee on arrival.

Fri:

Today we head towards Batsford Arboretum. Tucked away on the south facing escarpment of the Cotswolds hills, this jewel of the Cotswolds holds one of the country’s largest collections of shrubs and trees.Take time to wander through the ever changing landscape. This afternoon meander through some of the typical Cotswolds villages,including Broadway, described as having the prettiest high street in England with its honey coloured buildings clustered around the green. Followed by Bourton-on-the-Water, often referred to as ‘Little Venice’and regularly voted as one of the prettiest villages in England.

Our excursion today takes us to Cirencester, the ‘Capital of the Cotswolds’ and second largest town in England during Roman Times.The Church of St. John Baptist dominates the market square and there is a fine Roman Museum worth visiting. This afternoon we visit Sudeley Castle Gardens, owned by Lord and Lady Ashcombe. There are nine award winning gardens which sweep round the castle, all with a unique style and design.

Sun:

After breakfast we make our way eastward to Blenheim Palace,home of the Duke of Marlborough and the birthplace of Winston Churchill. The palace is a unique example of English baroque architecture. Inside, the scale of the palace is beautifully balanced by the intricate detail and delicacy of the carvings, the hand painted ceilings and the amazing porcelain collections, tapestries and painting displayed in each room. We return to our hotel to enjoy a Cream Tea with free time to relax and enjoy the hotel’s facilities.

Mon:

We bid farewell to our hosts after breakfast and make our way to nearby Burford with its magnificent tree lined main street. Later we continue our homeward journey back to Cambridgeshire, where our door-to-door service will take you to your home.
