The Cream of Cornwall

The Cream of Cornwall

Cornwall has so much to offer from golden sandy beaches and fishing villages to rolling countryside and manor houses. This new tours takes in the cream of Cornwall as we take in both the north and south coasts . . .

As we take a leisurely cruise on the River Fal from Truro to Falmouth, visit a magnificent Victorian country house and a ride on the Bodmin Steam Railway whilst enjoying a cream tea.

This tour includes our popular door-to-door collection service.

Morning collection from home to join the coach for our drive to the West Country, arriving at our hotel in time for evening meal.

Our excursion today takes us to the lovely harbour town of Padstow, renowned for Rick Stein’s fish restaurant. Later we make our way to Tintagel, steeped in legend and mystery and said to be the birthplace of King Arthur. You might like to go to the visitor centre,King Arthur’s Halls or the castle itself (entry not included).

Today we travel to Truro, Cornwall’s cathedral city with its cobbled streets and Georgian town houses. We join a cruiser for the early afternoon hour long cruise with commentary on the River Fal to Falmouth. Often referred to as the ‘Jewel of the Cornish Riviera’ due to its picturesque beaches and quaint streets, Falmouth was once a busy fishing port. Well worth a visit is the National Maritime Museum which gives an insight into the area’s maritime history (cost not included).

Day at leisure at Fistral Beach. Alternatively, join our coach for an excursion to St. Ives, one of the most colourful, quaint and attractive towns in Cornwall. Nestling in the gentle curve of St. Ives Bay, the delightful old harbour town has a Mediterranean feel about it with its maze of narrow streets and crescent shaped beaches, all set in the uniquely rugged granite landscape of West Penwith.

This morning we make our way to Llanhydrock House to discover the fascinating history of this magnificent late Victorian country house. See the children's nursery wing and the state rooms plus the fascinating warren of kitchens, larders and sculleries ‘below stairs’. We then board the Bodmin Steam Railway for a nostalgic ride through the delightful Cornish countryside taking in the sights and sounds of a bygone era whilst enjoying a delicious cream tea on board.

We bid farewell to our hotel after breakfast for the return journey to Cambridgeshire where our door-to-door service will take you home.
