Early morning collection from your home to join the coach for the journey to Folkestone for our mid-morning shuttle to France. We then continue to our overnight hotel.



After breakfast, we continue our journey to Italy and on to Lake Garda for two nights dinner, bed and breakfast.



Day at leisure to relax or join us for an included return boat cruise on Lake Garda across to the medieval town of Sirmione.



This morning we depart Lake Garda and make our way to Tuscany, visiting Verona, home of Romeo and Juliet en route. We have time to view the famous balcony, visit the amphitheatre, or stroll around the fabulous shops, before continuing to the delightful spa town of Montecatini Therme and Hotel Adua.



This morning a local guide joins us as we visit Pisa, home of one of the world’s most famous sights, The Leaning Tower. Other places of interest include the cathedral and beautiful squares lining the banks of the River Arno. In the afternoon we move to Carrara, the city of marble. We will journey into Northern Tuscany’s Apuan Alps to visit the marble quarry of Carrara and to understand how much work goes into producing the white gold.



We visit the Chianti Valley, this hilly landscape with olive groves, cypresses, vineyards and palaces, enthrals all visitors. We take a relaxing break at a winery and sample the delicious wines of the region accompanied by local food specialities. This afternoon we make our way to San Gimignano, the Manhattan of the Middle Ages. A visit to the San Gimignano 1300 Museum will give us a glimpse into the original structure of the town. Our tour ends with a delicious handmade gelato in one of the finest gelaterias anywhere. The owner Mr Dondoli will let us taste some of its unique and patented individual flavours.



We enjoy a whole different mode of transport today as we take the train into Florence, the birthplace of Renaissance with its bustling streets and markets, art galleries, the magnificent cathedral and of course the famous Ponte Vecchio Bridge. We have included a professionally guided tour on foot to show you this city at its best.



A day at leisure to enjoy the resort’s amenities.



We are transported back to the age of knights and castles as we visit the town of Volterra for ‘the Day of the 1398 festival’. Reconstructions of medieval life with peasant farmers, livestock, monks and other tradespeople provide a colourful spectacle, featuring live demonstrations of military skills, handicrafts and ancient trades transforming the archaeological park into a realistic depiction of village life in the Middle Ages



We depart our hotel and begin our journey home stopping overnight in the Austrian Tyrol for dinner, bed and breakfast.



We continue our journey homeward through Germany to our second overnight hotel.



Onwards to Northern France for our mid-afternoon Eurotunnel crossing. We then continue back to Cambridgeshire where our door-to-door service will return you home.

This excellent, friendly, family-run 4-star hotel is centrally located in Montecatini, just a short walk from the resort’s amenities, shops, bars, and thermal baths.
